A little over a year ago, a movie licenser working on a Netflix Rom-Com film called 'The Life List' contacted us about a 'product placement' opportunity. They were shooting in a scene set in Burlington VT (though filmed in upstate NY) and were creating a store-front. The film's art director discovered our brand and hoped to include many of our products. We of course were very honored and excited to be in a movie! Then we came down to earth and had to make sure it wasn't a scam. Quickly verified, we shipped off several items to Brooklyn. This was going to be our big break - featured in a movie that millions would see - our ticket to fame and fortune! But after a little while we kind of forgot about it.
Last week upon searching for a movie to watch on TV, '
The Life List', (starring Connie

Britton, Sofia Carson, Kyle Allen and Sebastian De Souza), popped up at the top of the Netflix search! We made some popcorn and hit play, scouring every inch of the film in search of our trademark owl, Emma. Finally in a scene 'on' Burlington's Church Street marketplace, there they were - Barred Woods granola, sugar, syrup, candy. NO ONE - barely even us - would EVER have noticed them - we only caught them because of the label coloring. (see highlighted screen shot). No owl or words could be seen. In fact, they were only on screen for less than a second.... We got a sizeable chuckle out of it - our big break in Hollywood and
all of this free publicity !?!
The good news was that we enjoyed the movie - a little Hall-Marky, but a touching storyline.
