Frequently asked questions
Either grade of maple syrup can be used, it's a matter of personal taste. In general, if you are purchasing bulk maple syrup to use in a restaurant many customers prefer amber grade syrup and if you are using maple syrup as an ingredient most businesses use the stronger tasting dark syrup. But either grade is really fine for any purpose. Any questions please email us.

The lowest cost option to purchase maple syrup in bulk depends on your application. We often find that purchasing a pallet of 24 five gallon containers is lower cost for the customer than purchasing two 55 gallon drums. The downside of purchasing 55 gallon drums are: 1) you need a proper pump to dispense the syrup out of the 55 gallon barrel; 2) when pumping, some syrup is always lost in the bottom of the barrel, the pump, and the lines each time you pump; 3) if you do not use the entire barrel at one time you end up with partially used barrels which will develop mold if you do not refrigerate; and 4) 55 gallon barrels are sold by weight and if you do not need an exact increment of 55 gallons you usually end up with left over waste. So for most small and medium sized businesses we usually recommend purchasing 5 gallon containers, either shipped individually or on a pallet.
