What's in Your Forest?
We are fortunate that our sugarbush and sugarhouse are situated right smack in the midst of an important northeast wildlife corridor. Up in our woods we've had several sightings of deer, bear, porcupine and even moose. Of course most wildlife sees us first and stay hidden, leaving us to only wonder about all of the shenanigans that occur in our 'quiet' sanctuary. To satisfy our curiosity we're starting to monitor with game cams. We'll share a few of our most recent favorite clips.

"Don't mess with my fawn"
We saw a few different clips of Mama deer and her beautiful Baby fawn. Then one night, a coyote ran by the camera. This was different than the normal coyote nightly stroll, and sure enough, Mama deer was chasing it. Ten minutes later Mama was seen again, panting heavily, double-checking. Fortunately a few weeks later, Mama and Baby fawn, now noticeably larger but still spotted, were captured again on camera.

"Check out my pretty ears"
Who knew the backs of bobcat's ears were so striking? And that the bob-tail can curl?

"Close encounter of the moose kind"
We've heard that moose have bad eyesight, but instead excel with other senses. Looks like this guy didn't quite see our tree with the camera. It took several times watching the video for us to tell what the heck it was.
