Maple adds a special sweetness to the strawberries and rhubarb in this recipe.
2 cups rhubarb, cut into 1-inch pieces
3 cups strawberries, cut in halves
1/3 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
3 tbsp cornstarch
¼ cup maple syrup ( I use Dark grade)
½ cup oats
½ cup whole wheat flour
¼ cup maple syrup
½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp salt
¼ cup melted butter
Preheat oven to 375deg F.
Lightly grease 9X9 baking dish.
Add all Crisp Filling ingredients to pan and stir to combine.
Mix Crisp Topping ingredients together and spread on top of Crisp Filling.
Bake at 375 deg F for 45 minutes.
Serve warm or cold.
